Established in 1875, BSE Ltd. formerly known as Bombay Stock Exchange Ltd. is Asia's first Stock Exchange and one of India's leading exchange groups. Over the past 138 years, BSE Ltd. has facilitated the growth of the Indian corporate sector by providing it an efficient capital-raising platform. Popularly known as BSE, the bourse was established as "The Native Share & Stock Brokers' Association" in 1875.
BSE Institute Limited is the wholly owned subsidiary of the BSE Ltd. BIL inherits from BSE Ltd. the knowledge and insights into the capital markets sector, garnered over the past 138 years. BIL has the distinct advantage of being at the centre of action — the financial hub of India, one of the world's most rapid emerging markets. This has helped BIL provide insights into the unique functions of this world. Emerging markets such as the BRIC countries — Brazil, India, and China — can entice and intimidate.
A critical element of the financial sector reforms is the development of a pool of human resources having right skills and expertise in each segment of the profession to provide quality intermediation to market participants. Hence, BIL's programs are designed to help learners develop an actionable framework to delve into key aspects like:
- Identifying which market institutions are working, and which institutions are missing;
- Which parts of one's business model can be adversely affected by these institutional voids;
- How can one build competitive advantage based on their ability to navigate institutional voids;
- How can one profit from the structural reality of emerging markets by identifying opportunities to fill voids, serving as market intermediaries;
BIL's commitment to being at the forefront of the current and evolving practice of business has led to programs that reflect the realities of the marketplace.
To meet the constantly increasing and varied demands of the market BIL offers a pool of courses; both short-term and long-term. They include introductory short term programs as well as super-specialization long term programs. Many of BIL's participants are practicing financial executives who bring with them their experience thus making the learning highly interactive and lively. Needless to add it offers a great opportunity to network with likeminded professionals and discuss key issues and tap their knowledge base.
BIL is the leader in providing professional certifications in financial markets since past 25 years. BSE's Certification is an on-line system which tests the practical knowledge and skills required to operate in the financial markets. BIL offers a comprehensive range of modules covering many different areas in finance and capital markets. The growing importance of BIL's certification programs is a reflection of BIL's relevance to the continuously evolving employment scenario in the world of financial markets.
